The Girl Who Saved Christmas
The Girl Who Saved Christmas by Matt Haig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amelia Wishart is the girl who believes in Father Christmas; in fact, she’s the only girl who does and therefore her hopes are the ones keeping the sleigh flying. After a disaster hits Elfhelm however, Father Christmas can’t make it to Amelia’s and her wishes don’t come true. Can Father Christmas help Amelia keep believing and the sleigh flying in time for Christmas this year?

This is a lovely story, perfect for reading at Christmas and, although it’s written for children, was also very enjoyable for an adult to read for absolute pleasure. I very much enjoyed reading about Amelia and her friends (not to mention the Elves and theirs) and, of course, no Christmas book would be complete without Father Christmas as a central character.

This is definitely a book to read to children the week before Christmas, and definitely one full of Christmas spirit. Highly recommended!
